Our 29th annual convention in Primm, Nevada March 23 - 26, was once again a huge success. 171 members and 105 guests made their way to the sunny climate in Primm, Nevada, this year.
Attending the Silver State Convention is like attending a mini national convention for less than half the price. Hotel rooms at the Primm Valley Resort and Casino Convention Center this year were under $30 per night. Free canvas tote bags, imprinted with the ALPCA Silver State logo, were given out with each registration packet to all in attendance.
Nearly all of our 204 tables were pre-sold again this year. If you purchased 3 or more tables you were invited to a special VIP Cocktail Party prior to the Welcome Buffet dinner. Just another way for the Silver State Region to say thank you to those who support our annual convention.
The Casino Fun Night Slot Tournament was held this year in the Convention Hall. Our big winner this year was Lee Vander Heide who walked away with $100 in cash. Didn't Lee also win the slot tournament last year?! Second place went to Mike Meyers with a $50 cash prize and Ron Chamberlain took third place with $25 in cash.
Thursday morning our attendees arrived to a free Continental Breakfast in the Convention Hall sponsored by the Silver State Region. On Friday, the Silver State Region hosted an all you can eat Picnic Buffet lunch for everyone in attendance. On Saturday morning we had a smaller Continental Breakfast for those in attendance.
The Early Bird registration winner(s), drawn at random, were Alan Aitken from Utah, Tom Aylward from Ohio, and James Schaller from New York. Our winners had their hotel stay provided courtesy of the Silver State Region. Katherine Abraham, Carroll Kerney, Vera Neavill, Frank Roque, and John Serio, were winners of the $50 gasoline cards. It pays to register early... and it pays to stay at our host hotel; Primm Valley Resort and Casino.
Our attendees arrived from31 States, 3 Countries, 4 Canadian Provinces, Yukon Territory, and American Samoa this year.
We look forward to welcoming you to Primm in 2012.
